Poet

Poetry transcends dimensions and constructs we’ve bound ourselves with, it feeds a creative rebellion inside us that aches to set us free.

Urdu poetry has changed my life ever since I was introduced to it. A language I barely understood then, but it filled me up with so much wonder and awe it was impossible not to be moved by it. I’m still far from understanding and speaking Urdu fluently, however, the struggle and journey to learn and write poetry in this beautiful language have been profoundly enriching.

Some say Urdu is a language of love, of heartbreak, of pain, of belief, of rebellion, of beauty, of peace. For me, it is a language of the soul and that of the mystic. It has allowed me to seek the depths of my being and piece together the fragments of my soul I once thought lost.
